About Us
The Barr Lake and Milton Reservoir Watershed (BMW) Association incorporated as a 501(c)6 nonprofit stakeholder watershed group in May 2005. BMW Association participants include representatives of cities and t
owns, major wastewater treatment facilities, irrigation companies, drinking water providers, agricultural water users, and recreational groups. Many other individuals and organizations participate in BMW Association meetings and committee activities. These stakeholders are dedicated to encouraging cooperation of all interested parties in efforts to improve the water quality of Barr Lake and Milton Reservoir. The organization emphasizes collaboration and consensus-based decision making.

Membership Levels
We encourage everyone who has an interest in the water and land of Barr Lake, Milton Reservoir, and the surrounding watershed to participate in the BMW Association. To join the BMW Association membership, please click here. Membership is available at 3 levels:
Supporting (Suggested voluntary contribution of $30)
Supporting Members include any person, corporation, company, district, organization, municipality, or federal, state, local, or wastewater agency who demonstrates an interest in and support for the purposes of the BMW Association, including a concern about the quality or quantity of water in the Barr Lake and Milton Reservoir Watersheds and a commitment to cooperative watershed solutions. Supporting Members are eligible, through appointment by the Board of Directors or election by a plurality of the Active and Supporting Members, to serve as at-large members of the Board of Directors. Supporting Members may also participate in all General Membership meetings including participation in any “substantial consensus” decision processes election of at-large members of the Board of Directors.
Active ($1,750)
Active Members are eligible through appointment by the Board of Directors or election by a plurality of the Active and Supporting Members to serve as at-large members of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. Active Members may participate in general or voting membership meetings.
Sustaining ($8,250)
Sustaining Members are entitled to appoint one representative to the BMW Association Board of Directors. Sustaining Members may also participate in all general or voting membership meetings.
